Registered Nurse administers nursing care to assigned patients that is in accordance with ANA standards, the NJ Practice Act, Joint Commission and established hospital and Nursing Department policy and procedures. The selected candidate will assist the physicians in various types of Stress Testing, provide intravenous IV Therapy including IV insertion, and assist with general patient care. The candidate may also be asked to assist in other Cardiac Depts as needed.
Responsibilities Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care. Promote a healing culture for the patient population served and their families. Candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills and be comfortable working autonomously.Assists physician by monitoring patients during cardiac testing procedures. Recognizes adverse reactions to medications and takes immediate and appropriate actions. Recognizes changes in patient condition and/or emergencies situations and takes immediate and appropriate actions.Obtains a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent, and continuous. This assessment is communicated effectively and documented.Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing diagnosis according to physical, psychological, spiritual/cultural, and educational needs in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary approach.Consistently includes patient and family in the development of an individualized plan of care.Administers medications as needed following CSHS policies and manufacturer's instructions.Maintains and upgrades own nursing practice and development.Recognizes changes in patient condition and/or emergencies situations and takes immediate and appropriate actions.Delegates components of care to non-professional caregivers as appropriate.Makes decisions that demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice; utilizes sound nursing judgment in clinical and patient care management situations.Ensures department meets Joint Commission and other regulatory standards. QualificationsBSN required; A valid NJ RN license
BLS/ ACLS certification are required
A minimum of 3 years of acute care Cardiac/ Telemetry and/or Critical Care experience is required.
Experience in emergency care considered.
