*Description* Summary: To provide direct and indirect nursing care to a patient or a group of patients. *$12K Sign on Bonus for eligible external candidates with at least one year of Acute Care experience* Responsibilities: 1. Completes the Admission assessment of the patient providing a clear picture of his/her status. 2. Follows the 5 Rights of Medication Administration, verbalizing to patients/family/significant other the medication they are receiving. 3. Assesses patients for potential safety risks upon admission. 4. Assesses learning needs of patient/family/significant other. 6. Promotes a positive work environment through personal example and teamwork. 7. Assesses patient's skin condition on admission, every shift, change in condition, transfer and discharge. 8. Adheres to Nursing Standards of Practice to include assessment, care planning, interventions and evaluation of the plan of care. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. 10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Education: ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE Required: RN License to practice in the State of Connecticut, Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR), trauma hours, as per unit standards. Minimum experience: zero to six months Working Conditions: Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Significant occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
