CORE JOB SUMMARY
Assess the condition of the patient receiving Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) services via nursing process through identification of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, communicating the plan of care, implementing appropriate nursing interventions and documenting and evaluating patient outcomes. Serve as a liaison and educational resource for IR Services. Serve as a resource person to other members of the Radiology health care team. The role of the registered nurse within Imaging/IR services is multifaceted including, but not limited to delivery of nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and administration of chemo as related to IR procedures, participation in On Call rotations and Charge role as determined by role and experience.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required.
Certification and Licensing:
Current/valid FL RN license required.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. PALS preferred but must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Moderate Sedation and IV certifications preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
One year of relevant nursing experience preferably with PACU, ICU or Emergency Department clinical experience.
Must have extensive knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques and be knowledgeable in radiology procedures and safety practices.
