Description:Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:
•\tAssessment: Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer’s health and/or the situation.
•\tDiagnosis: Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
•\tOutcomes Identification: Identifies expected outcomes of a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
•\tPlanning: Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
•\tImplementation: Implements the identified plan.
o\tCoordination of Care – Coordinates care delivery.
o\tHealth Teaching and Health Promotion – Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
o\tConsultation – The advanced practice Registered Nurse and the nursing role Specialist provide consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others, and effect change.
o\tPrescriptive Authority and Treatment – The advanced practice Registered Nurse uses prescriptive authority, procedures, referrals, treatments, and therapies in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
•\tEvaluation: Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Job Code 211: Level I - Novice:
The entry-level nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN), and a practitioner whose practice is guided by nursing process and policy/procedure/protocol.

Job Code 212: Level II – Advanced Beginner:
The advanced beginner is a Registered Nurse whose practice is guided by nursing process and policy/procedure/protocol.

Job Code 213: Level III - Competent:
The experienced Registered Nurse uses critical thinking, judgment, and theory to guide practice; identifies and is responsible for patient/ family outcomes; independently and safely cares for patients common to the unit; and functions as a resource to entry level nurses and other staff.

Job Code 214: Level IV – Proficient
The proficient Registered Nurse routinely demonstrates effective problem solving; serves as a role model; encourages and facilitates critical thinking skills in other staff; and is recognized by peers as a resource and mentor.

Job Code 215: Level V - Expert:
The expert Registered Nurse takes a holistic view and quickly focuses on patient outcomes when assessing situations, prioritizing responses, making decisions, intervening and evaluating results, taking steps to advance nursing practice within Saint Mary’s Health Care, the community, and the profession. The expert is consistently consulted in the area of declared specialization. As an expert practitioner, the Level V RN actively promotes and supports clinical and organizational practice initiatives within the area of declared specialization. As an expert nurse, the Level V RN works to maintain established standards by ongoing review, analysis, and mentoring to meet maximal patient care standards.

ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification\tEmergencyTrinity Health's surgical suite/OR currently consists of 16 beds and was just recently renovated. This is a newly renovated area. We also have a Hybrid operating room is a surgical theatre that is equipped with advanced medical imaging devices such as fixed C-Arms, CT scanners or MRI scanners. These imaging devices enable minimally-invasive surgery, which is less traumatic for the patient. Minimally invasive means that the surgeon does not need to cut the patient open completely in order to access the body part wanted to perform surgery on, but can insert catheters or endoscopes through small holes. Though imaging has been a standard part of the OR for a long time in the form of mobile C-Arms, ultrasound and endoscopy, these new minimally-invasive procedures require imaging techniques that can visualize smaller body parts such as really thin vessels in the heart muscle and can be facilitated through intraoperative 3D imaging.

Before a surgical procedure:

Responsible for ensuring that the OR is set up correctlySet up the surgical area, laying out instruments and supplies according to the surgeon's preferencesChecks all equipment needed during the procedure to verify that it's functioning normallyVerifies the patient's identity and necessary consent forms and then reviews the site and nature of the procedure with the OR team

During the operation:

Provides the surgical team with sterile fluids and medications as neededReplenishes the surgical team's supplies if they need additional disposables or instrumentsPatient advocate while they are incapacitated during surgical procedure

Position Summary:

Registered Nurse - RN works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidenced based medicine and individualized patient care.  A Registered Nurse - RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.
