SITE OF SERVICE:

·       Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TX

 

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

·       Degree: Associate degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s in Nursing

·       Education: Accredited by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

o  Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

o  The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

·       Certifications: Must have the following hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

o  Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

o  Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

o  Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

·       Experience: Shall have a minimum of one (1)-year experience within the last three (3)-years, which includes the care of adults and newborns.

·       Licensure: Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Island.

·       U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen

·       English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.

·       Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

 

CORE DUTIES:

·       Assist Conscious/moderation sedation

·       Pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care

·       Recover post-surgical patients including post-cesarean section patients under general anesthesia

·       Administer and support infusion therapy services

 

HOURS:

·       The MTF is a 24/7 facility, therefore hours of performance may vary. RNs are required to work a minimum of four 12-hour shifts per month; other shifts may vary and may include 8, 10, or 12 hours, Sunday through Saturday and may include weekends and holidays.  

·       Typical/routine hours are as follows (Are Subject to Change):

 0645-1515 (6:45am – 3:15pm)

 0645-1715 (6:45am – 5:15pm)

 0645-1915 (6:45am – 7:15pm)

 1000-1830 (10:00am – 6:30pm)

 0730-1600 (7:30am – 4:00pm)

 0800-1630 (8:00am – 4:30pm)

 0845-1715 (8:45am – 5:15pm)

 0845-1915 (8:45am – 9:15pm)

 0845-2115 (8:45am – 11:15pm)

 0900-1730 (9:00am – 5:30pm)

 1000-1830 (10:00am – 6:30pm)

 1045-1915 (10:45am – 7:15pm)

 1045-2115 (10:45am – 9:15pm)

 1045-2315 (10:45am – 11:15pm)

 1130-2000 (11:30am – 8:00pm)

 

Base Down Days:

·       During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays family down days, Employee will only be compensated for the actual hours worked. If clinic is closed and employee is not able to work, employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty). 

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
