Registered Nurse Pulmonary Coordinator - Interventional Pulmonology - Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pulmonary Services Coordinator provides a personalized level of support to help patients, families, and caregivers navigate the system of care, at all levels of care, and assists them in maximizing their care. The Pulmonary Services Coordinator performs lung cancer screenings, reviews and escalates incidental findings, and acts to strengthen the pulmonary program. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, she/he is responsible for coordinating timely access to quality and comprehensive services throughout the continuum of care.

 

This position serves as a clinical resource with expertise in care management. The Pulmonary Services Coordinator also serves as a liaison throughout AtlantiCare and in the community.  The Pulmonary Services Coordinator also provides clinical support and acts as a patient advocate with the caregivers that are both internal and external, to support wellness and optimal health in the community

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.  Bachelor’s in nursing preferred, or in active pursuit.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. BLSHCP Certification required 6 months from date of hire or transfer required.

EXPERIENCE:  5 years pulmonary, critical care or oncology clinical experience required.  Prior case management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, motivational interviewing, written and verbal communication and computer literacy required.  Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as have excellent written and oral communication skills required. Possess the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with individuals or in a group setting on the clinical effectiveness of new products and technology required. Must be organized, detailed oriented and have good time management skills to succeed in a fast paced and ever changing work environment required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately on the skills that will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including exposure to blood-borne pathogens, infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and potential injury.  This position requires frequent walking and standing. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching for a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier as well as varied clinical tools and medical equipment.

The position reports to department leadership and may supervise incumbents as assigned.
