Community Healthcare System is hiring a RN Resource Team.

The Resource Team RN is a member of the emergency response team for the hospital and is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care during all emergency response calls including:  Code Blue, Acute Response, Stroke Alert, Brain Alert and Cardiac Alert. The Resource Team RN is responsible for facilitating the code process and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure proper placement of the patient post-code. The Resource Team RN will also provide clinical support to critical care units to ensure facilitation of care.  The Resource Team RN will serve as a clinical resource for all patient care area by utilizing critical thinking to optimize patient care.

Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:

Respond and leads all emergency responses throughout the hospital Demonstrate competence in basic nursing skills and critical care nursing skills. Maintain established safety, environmental, and infection control standards and take appropriate corrective action for identified infractions. Accurately implement of physician orders and seek clarification if needed. Provide clinical resource and critical thinking skills for nursing staff throughout the facility. Provide support to the shift charge nurses for the critical care unit during the assigned shift. Direct patient placement and/or assignment in ICU post emergency response Attend the 7:45am and 7:45pm Critical Care Charge Nurse Huddles Assist with transport to post-ART/Code units Assist with transfers/road trips to CT, MRI, Nuclear Med, etc. when available Assist with admissions in the critical care units when available Assist with Gift of Hope contacts Assist with the Epistaxis Team May be required to take a patient assignment in Critical Care (any of the adult units) during critical staffing times

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Active Indiana RN License

Bachelor's Degree preferred

3 years Critical care experience required

1-year charge nurse or supervisor experience preferred

NIHSS Certification required (within 30days)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association required; BLS
