Responsibilities The Labor and Delivery Nurse Fellowship Program Resident will be engaged in a comprehensive education and training program (Nurse Residency Fellowship Program). The Labor and Delivery Nurse Resident Fellowship Program is specifically designed to transition nurses without OB Nursing Experience into safe, competent, and professional Labor and Delivery Nurses. The Nurse Resident will take part in a highly integrated and systematic approach. This program requires a commitment from the organization to the resident and vice versa. The transition from Nurse Resident to Labor and Delivery RN will ensure responsible planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing nursing care plans in coordination with the patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary and communicating changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. The Labor and Delivery Staff RN functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination. This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services. The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager and Nurse Director. Qualifications Job Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing within one year of start date (NLNAC or CCNE) Minimum GPA, 3.0 Registered Nurse (RN) with Current New Jersey Board of Nursing License Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification, BLS certification Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification within 6 months of hire. Able to complete AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire. Preferred Job Requirements: OB nursing certification preferred. EFM certification preferred.
