Full Time - Rotating (10 hours x 4 days), with Weekend and Weekday Call requirement

The UMMC Cardiac Cath Lab is looking for an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join the Cath Lab team! This position supports charge nurse decisions and collaborates with a small multidisciplinary team.

The cardiac catheterization lab at UMMC DTC specializes in the latest methods for evaluating and treating most forms of heart disease. Our cardiologists are among the most experienced and talented in the region at performing diagnostic, interventional and structural cardiac procedures. Our cardiac catheterization labs are equipped to handle all major cardiac catheterization procedures currently in use, including, but not limited to:

Diagnostic RHC and LHC catheterizationBalloon angioplastyIntravascular ultrasoundRotational atherectomyCardiac stent placementCardiac structural interventions

The responsibilities of the Cardiac Cath Lab nurse will be, but are not limited to, the following:

Prepare patients for proceduresAdminister medications, including moderate sedationPerform patient assessments pre and post proceduresMonitor and document vital signs and sedation levels during and after proceduresAnalyze cardiac rhythmsWork in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.Work well with a team structureAssist/circulate proceduresAdhere to on-call policy requirements and respond appropriately to emergency calls per unit policy.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing. BSN preferred. ADN applicants must currently be in a BSN program or agree to obtain BSN within 3 years from date of hire.Currently licensed as an RN in the state of MarylandBLS and ACLS certificationMust have at least 2 full years of critical care experience, that includes management of ventilators and vasopressors. Cardiac or previous Cath Lab experience preferred.Proficient with EPIC charting systemBe able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.Additional Information
