Job Summary:
Mental Health workers provide care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. They closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

Minimum 2 years experience as an RN in an acute care behavioral health settingPrevious experience in psychology or sociology desirableGraduate from an accredited school or universityStrong communication and organizational skillsProficient computer skills

Preferred:

Previous experience in working with psychiatric and/or substance-abuse patients Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Active Registered Nurse License in the state of New JerseyBLS from the American Heart Association upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

Part-TimeNight Shift24 standard weekly hours

Essential Functions:
Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
Perform EKGs
Draw labs and collect specimens from patients
Assist patients in their daily activities such as: eating, dressing, and bathing
Provide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patients
Assist in non-violent crisis intervention
