Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Neurology Epilepsy Stroke - 6 Central - Weekend Program - FT
The Weekend Program offers a weekend only shift schedule with enhanced compensation. The Weekend Program is a 12 month commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends in a 12 month period beginning with first shift worked. Travel allowance is available for eligible employees travelling greater than 75 miles one way. Shifts - Eligible Weekend Program shifts are based on how the position is defined at hire - Only Weekend Program shifts are eligible for Weekend Program Premium - The Weekend Program team member may be scheduled to work additional shifts per week. The team member will earn appropriate (non-Weekend Program) differentials for those shifts. Leaves – Scheduled and/or Unplanned - The Weekend Program team member will be scheduled forty-eight (48) weekends per 12 month period. The 12 month period begins effective the first shift worked as a Weekend Program team member - A total of four (4) weekends may be taken off in the 12 month period, which includes scheduled and unplanned absences. Requests will be granted in accordance with staffing guidelines. - Substitutions or trading of shifts requires advance approval and is at the manager’s discretion; and the 48 worked weekends must still be maintained Capable clinician, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. Manages care and implements treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the health care team. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Assumes a beginning leadership role but seeks mentoring in this process. Holiday Coverage - Should a manager wish to reschedule a weekend shift in exchange for holiday coverage during the week, agreement is required by both the manager and the team member. The rescheduled weekend shift will remain counted as one of the required 48 weekends worked, and will not be counted as one of the allotted 4 weekends that may be taken off. - Should a team member request to trade a weekend shift in exchange for personal holiday preference, approval is required by the manager. The rescheduled weekend shift will not count as one of the required 48 weekends worked, and will be counted as one of the allotted 4 weekends that may be taken off. - Holiday requirements supercede the Weekend Program requirements where a manager determines holiday coverage is needed to meet the needs of the unit. There may be occasions where a manager requires a Weekend Program team member to work holidays outside of the Weekend Program. In this event, rescheduled weekend shift will remain counted as one of the required 48 weekends worked, and will not be counted as one of the allotted 4 weekends that may be taken off. - Team members earn appropriate (non-Weekend Program) differentials for all shifts worked outside of the Weekend Program shift schedule. Position Compensation Range: $39.90 - $53.00 Hourly MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
