Overview M Health Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Birthplace Unit at Lake's Hospital in Wyoming, MN. All RNs within the unit are trained to Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, OR circulator and PACU (c-section care), pediatrics, and nursery. (Cross training to med/surg may be required at leader discretion). All RNs are trained in lactation support, some of the RNs on the unit are Certified Lactation Consultants. Responsibilities Job Description The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of fetal monitoring principles and accurate interpretation of fetal monitoring strips using NICHD language Provides appropriate labor & delivery care (including operating room) to the pregnant woman per AWHONN standards of care and established order sets Provides appropriate care to the postpartum woman per AWHONN standards of care and established order sets Provides appropriate care to the full –term infant and late preterm infant per AWHONN standards of care and established order sets Provides resuscitation care to the newly born infant per American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation standards Pediatric patient population cares as assigned.
