Overview Competitive Compensation -Pay range for this position is $33.91-$51.04. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. POSITION SUMMARY: The RN Cardiac Cath nurse works in the Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology areas and assesses and evaluates needs of the intra-operative patient’s physical symptoms, providing psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Supports family needs with communication and instruction, mentors assigned team members, promotes best practice, and maintains professional disposition at all times. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate’s degree in nursing Licensure/ Certification: IL or Michigan Reg Nurse License Current American Heart Association Healthcare provider basic life support (BLS) Current American Heart Association Healthcare provider advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) Current American Heart Association Healthcare provider pediatric PALS - (Required within 6 months for Electrophysiology and Interventional Radiology, required in the Cardiac Cath Lab only if selected to train for pediatric cases) Other Skills/ Knowledge: Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Critical care knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit(s). This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served. Knowledge and skills to work with patients receiving anesthesia during procedure. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to comfort family members and/or significant others; to communicate effectively and concisely with other infant care providers; and to instruct family members and/or significant others in home care procedures. Analytical ability necessary to assess infants' physical, psychological and social needs, develops individualized infant care plans. Work requires after-hours call and back-up call as well as the ability to critically think and function autonomously while on call. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing Experience: Experience as a procedural RN in a healthcare environment.
