Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Responsible for the administration of specialized care to cardiopulmonary patients in the hospital and upon discharge from the hospital in the out-patient cardiac rehabilitation setting. Participates in cardiovascular education and screening in the Richmond community.
Employment Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current License to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia or awaiting reciprocity.
BSN required upon hire or within five years of start date.
Minimum of three years of Cardiac care experience required including care of patient with: cardiac artery bypass, valve surgery, myocardial infarction, LVAD, life vest, PCI/Stents, internal cardiac defibrillator (ICD), pacemaker, heart failure and complex co-morbidities.
Critical care experience preferred. Care of chronic respiratory disease.
Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Professional Cardiac Rehab Certification preferred.
Experienced in acute care cardiology, prevention, and risk-factor intervention.
