Up to $15,000 Salary Incentive

Essential Function:   

The RN Supervisor, Clinical assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on LCMC's standards of care and policies.   

Delegates work and provide supervision to professionals and other personnel involved in the delivery of patient care.  

Participates in the day-to-day operations of the department, under supervision of nursing manager/director.   

Acts as a clinical and operations resource person maintaining current knowledge of clinical practice and departmental operations.   

Audits, reports, and educates staff on nursing documentation and meeting professional and JCAHO requirements.  

Prepares the staffing schedule with approval of the appropriate manager/director.   

Plans daily staffing coverage according to department needs and appropriate skill mix.   

Adheres to the staffing plan and monitors staffing level on a daily basis.  

Modifies staffing patterns based on patient acuity, current technology, and available resources.  

Supervises departmental employees to include conducting new employee orientation and competency assessment.   

Provides feedback and input for performance evaluations and handles personnel matters as delegated/designated by department manager/director.  

Works in collaboration with the leader(s) in interviewing and selecting candidates for open positions.   

Attends recruitment events and represents the department when requested.  

Assigns preceptors to new orientees and provides orientees with orientation materials.   

Reviews orientation packet for completion by the preceptor and sends completed paperwork to the leader.   

Maintains employee accountability with all hospital policies and procedures.  

Encourages participation from employees in the ongoing delivery of care and/or services.  

Inspects department and completes routine environmental rounds.   

Completes safety rounds as prescribed by organizational safety plan.  

Completes regular rounds on all patients to assure that needs are met and resolves any issues that are identified.   

Participates in unit based and hospital wide performance improvement.  

Monitors compliance of core measure initiatives for all appropriate patients.  

Participates in chart review to evaluate compliance with quality standards.  

Participates in monitoring quality control standards for the department.  

Participates in cross-organizational activities to improve organizational performance.  

   

Job Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) or associate degree (Preferred) or Nursing Diploma (Required)  

Certification(s): CPR (Required)  

Licensure(s): Louisiana RN Unencumbered Licensure (Required) or RN Exam Applicant Permit (Required)  

Related Experience: 1 year in related area (Preferred)
