Come join the CVICU Team at Inova Fairfax! We are seeking a full time Registered Nurse for the CVICU at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.  2+ years of Critical Care/Cardiovascular RN experience preferred.  

Shift: Day/Night rotation (3 x 12-hour shifts).

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 24-bed unit in Schar Inova Heart and Vascular, located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia. Patients admitted to the CVICU include, but are not limited to, post cardiac surgery, post vascular surgery, heart failure requiring invasive cardiac monitoring, and other medical or surgical diagnosis requiring intense and continuous monitoring. 

The CVICU is a highly specialized unit providing the latest in clinical and patient care techniques. The unit prides itself in maintaining a culture of psychological safety where all disciplines are treated with respect and encouraged to participate in all aspects of patient care. 

Support for all team members is of the utmost importance as evidenced by the following: 

Charge RN that remains out of staffing Resource Nurse who is a fully device trained RN to provide support and education for staff, covers nurses for lunch and admits patients. 2 clinical technicians each shift as well as an RN mid-shifter to accommodate the surgical cases throughout the day.  CVICU has a dedicated Unit Educator to support the growth and progression on each team member from the beginning of their orientation and throughout their CVICU career.

CVICU RN Requirements:  
  Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship. Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. 
If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Certifications: BLS for healthcare provider certification from AHA required. ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire). Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
