Departmental Overview Norman Regional Health System's Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) staff cares for a wide variety of patients with complex cardiovascular medical conditions requiring intermediate or critical care, as well as post cardiac surgical patients, those transitioning for care post CABG and cardiac catheterization lab interventions. PCCU nurses are intuitive, critical thinkers and highly skilled to rapidly assess a patient's condition and intervene with immediate attention. Common medication drips include Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone. Job Summary Job Summary RN essential functions include, but are not limited to: · Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate · Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate. · Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy · Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions. · Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed. · Professional Practice Qualifications Education Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Experience Previous experience in healthcare field preferred. Licensure/Certification Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program. Qualifications Education Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Experience Previous experience in healthcare field preferred. (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure/Certification Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training is required within 6 months of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities New graduates will be required to complete Vizient/AACN Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program to ensure the best outcome for you during your transition period from school to becoming a professional nurse Compensation $27.84-$45.46/hr depending on previous work experience.
