Registered Nurse RN Intermediate Care

At Saint Mary’s Hospital the Intermediate Care Unit is a 20-bed unit providing care to high-acuity medical and surgical patients that require continuous cardiac monitoring and various interventions, supporting respiratory and hemodynamic stability.

What you will do:

The Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse RN is responsible for delivering patient care for an assigned group of patients and directing and coordinating all nursing care according to established standards of practice.  You will collaborate closely with a great team in a supportive environment

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A preference is given to candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree.

Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.

Experience: 1 or more years of ICU/Critical Care, Telemetry, or Intermediate/Step Down nursing experience is required. Position WILL NOT train

BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

**Position is not available for training or Graduate Nurse Residency candidates.**

Work Schedule:

Full-Time – Weekends Only – 12-Hr Day Shift.

Weekend Only Program is set from 7:00 p.m. Friday through 7:30 a.m. Monday. You will work every weekend, minus one per quarter. You will work a total of 24 Hours, which will consist of two 12-HR shifts or three 8-HR shifts, depending on the unit.

If a Holiday does not fall within these hours, it is not considered part of the weekend schedule.

Colleagues will receive Specialized increased Weekend differential pay during the 24 hours worked along with an additional bonus consisting of 6 hours of pay at base salary, totaling 30 hours of pay. Additionally, all evening and night shift differentials apply during the 24 hours worked.

**Experienced Nurses with one (1) or more years of expertise receive additional hourly specialty pay, enhancing the base pay compensation
