Position Summary: The Oncology Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice in an oncology setting; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care deliveries in the outpatient oncology and infusion services setting. Provide safe, effective, appropriate and comprehensive infusion services to oncology patients. Monitors drug therapy and identifies drug related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions, and inadequate therapy; takes appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems. Coordinates, provides and ensures a continuum of care by collaborating with other healthcare providers both within and outside of the organization. The certified oncology nurse demonstrates, through patient care, both specialized knowledge and experience in cancer care. Maintains evidence of training and continued education in oncology specific opportunities and completing other duties as assigned.
