Inova Fair Oaks is currently hiring experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses to support our patients on weekdays. This role is full time -40 hours a week (10 hr. shifts -6:45am-5:15pm).
For qualified candidates, sign on bonus opportunities up to $15,000 and relocation assistance up to $5,000-$10,000 depending on location.
Inova Fair Oaks Operating Room (OR) has 14 OR suites offering a comprehensive range of surgical specialties, including ortho, spine, robotic, retina and bariatrics. They conduct over 10,000 surgical cases annually using some of the most advanced technology such as Stryker Mako Robotic-Assisted Joint Procedures, Globus Excelsius Robotic Spine Navigation Platform, OrthAlign Precision Navigation and Medtronic StealthStation Navigation. Registered Nurse Operating Room Job Responsibilities:
Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships. Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice. Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions. Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues. Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs. Coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient and family transition planning Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation. Evaluates processes to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and revises plans of care. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and incorporates their expertise to achieve desired patient outcomes. Mentors staff in understanding and advocating for the importance of utilizing relationship-based care initiatives in nursing practice. Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery and participates in quality improvement initiatives. Reviews self-development plan and professional goals, identifies own learning needs and seeks opportunities to obtain education to enhance practice. Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintaining own Team Member Continuing Education Record When on call, initiates coordination of multidisciplinary resources to support complex surgical patients in emergent situations and ensures resources are used appropriately and that the same standard of care is delivered. May perform additional duties as assigned.Additional Requirements:
Work Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/week- 6:45am-5:15pm. Education: BSN or AD; if RN has an AD, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience: Minimum 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse. Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
