We are currently hiring for part-time and full-time RNs for the PeriAnesthesia department, which includes PACU and Pre-Op! Our main pre-op and PACU areas include 11 bays and our ASU pre-op includes 7 bays with ASU PACU having 10 bays. Our PeriAnesthesia department floats between pre-op and PACU, including both main and ambulatory surgery, to care for a variety of surgical patients including colorectal, spine, vascular, urology, plastics, orthopedics, ENT, and some pediatrics. We offer variable start times and have had several Daisy Award winners and Associate of the Year! PeriAnesthesia RNs can pursue several different certifications including CMSRN, PCCN, ASPAN, CPAN, CAPA and serve as safety champions and unit champions within St Francis Medical Center!

Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Services – St Francis Medical Center

Job Summary:

The Surgical Services Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient statusDetermining the priority of the patient’s problems and needsImplementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical careDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomesEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care teamConduct initial and ongoing patient assessmentObserves the surgery and surgical team from a broad perspective and assists the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patientResponsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinating the needs of the surgical team with other care providersProvides pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructionsOther duties as assigned

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing

Certifications:

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart AssociationACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred, not required)PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred, not required)CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required)SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred, not required)

Experience:
