The Role: Registered Nurse (RN) at MaineGeneral Podiatry
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the podiatry office, you will support the podiatrist by assessing and triaging patients, assisting with procedures, administering medications and injections, managing wound care, educating patients on foot care and post-operative care, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and maintaining detailed patient documentation. You will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive comprehensive care for foot and ankle conditions.
Position Highlights:
This position is 40 hours per week: Monday through Friday, with no weekends or call schedule required.
The Work:
Complete daily tasks including plans, implementation, and evaluation for treating and preventing foot health issues related to diabetes and other chronic disease processes, especially in preventing and detecting diabetes and its complications related to the foot and ankle. Complete a comprehensive assessment of the patient's overall health, especially current foot conditions, including identifying existing problems while providing recommendations for future care. Be comfortable providing foot care, including foot exams and wound dressings along with trimming toenails and addressing corns and calluses to avoid more serious issues and be able to refer to the Podiatrist/NP for more specialized care when needed.You Have:
Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion requiredFoot Care certification is preferredOne or more years of recent/relevant RN experience preferredAbility to work independently, effective time management and problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities preferredDetail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask preferred Confident and effective oral and written communication skills preferredYou Get:
