The Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Our partial hospitalization program fills a gap in mental health services by providing supportive and structured crisis intervention for individuals requiring more intensive mental health care than a weekly counseling or psychiatric appointment can provide. It may also be utilized as a step down from inpatient psychiatric treatment. The Psychiatric PHP can see up to 24 patients per day.
The Registered Nurse in Psych PHP:
Works as part of an interprofessional team made up of Psychiatrists, counselors/therapists, to provide safe and effective care for patients diagnosed with behavioral health disordersAdmits new patientsFacilitates an orientation group for patientsFacilitates two psycho-education groups with documentation per dayServes as a liaison between physician and patient for medical questions and concernsActs as a resource person for all things medical for interprofessional teamObtains prior authorizations for medications and treatment days
The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.

Requirements:
Experience Required: 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. Psychiatric experience is preferred.Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.Certification: BLS certification required through American Heart AssociationLicensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered NurseSpecial Skills - Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills required.
