Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring an RN Unit Coordinator for the Emergency Department.
 This position is full time, rotating shift.

RN Unit Coordinators demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

BSN and 18 months of direct, relevant experience required.

Primary responsibility as charge nurse for EDs internal Focused Care and Fast Track care areas. Guide, lead, implement, and develop performance improvement initiatives specific to throughput, patient experience, quality, safety, and staff engagement. Serve as a liaison to provider leadership as it relates to daily operations and targeted performance/KPIs. The RN-UC Ambulatory ED Care will possess a strong clinical skill set, specific experience in Urgent Care nursing, the ability to lead teams, communicate a vision, ensure consistency, and serve as a direct care given embedded within the team. This leader work schedule will reflect the demand-capacity of those select areas with an emphasis on weekday hours with a variable start time of 7a, 8a, 9a, 10a, 11a x 8hrs x 5 days week. These start times will be discussed with the RN-UC in advance and remain consistent on a 6-week basis; meaning shifting of times is not intended to be daily, but rather based on the needs of the department as well as supporting this leader's ability to collaborate with other unit leaders and key stakeholders. Off shift rotations will be scheduled in advance including nights and weekends as needed.
