Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for the 3-North Medical Telemetry Unit

As a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator, you will function in a charge nurse / staffing capacity role at times, but also have alternate tasks ranging from audits, staff schedules, patient experience, and committee work. There are many different specialties where you can perform and grow your nursing skills in areas of interest to you. If you desire, there are promotional opportunities into additional leadership roles or to advance your level of care in a variety of settings. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.

Department Overview: 3 North is a Medical Telemetry Unit located on the third floor of SAMC. This unit has 24 beds. This unit most often treats patients in need of medical telemetry, observation, cardiac monitoring and treatment for low-risk chest pain, COPD, pneumonia and congestive heart failure.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we look to the future of our new facility with anticipated completion in 2025!  The replacement hospital will be built on a 135-acre site near Halstead Boulevard Extended and Thunder Road in Elizabeth City and will feature a modern, high-efficiency, patient-centric layout including a new medical office building.

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. BLS required within 90 days of hire.
