Job Summary: Assists in the medical care and treatment of students.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conducts a cursory health evaluation of new students. Includes, but not limiting to: Measures and records student vital signs, conducts hearing and vision screening, obtain and test urine, apply, read, and document results of PPD’s.Performs phlebotomy procedures and collects specimens as required by National Job Corps Protocol. Administers medication, monitors, and follows up to observe students. Reports on adverse reactions to medication to the Health and Wellness Director (HWD). Assists with scheduling and follow up of medical appointments on center and community appointments.Coordination of Chronic Care Management Plans for students with chronic illnessesAssists HWD with Applicant File ReviewOn-call support requiredSchedule: M-F 8am-5pm
Qualifications:
Minimum: High school graduate plus State RN license. Must have active, unrestricted licenses, and work within scope of their license.
Preferred: One year nursing experience, plus Job Corps experience desirable.
Knowledge: Sound nursing techniques. Ability to relate effectively to student population. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to carry out instructions without constant supervision. Must maintain CPR certification.
