*Description* SUMMARY: The Critical Care STAT Nurse provides onsite expert consultation to staff while problem solving complex patients, and by providing clinical support for direct patient care providers. In collaboration with other patient care leaders the STAT Registered Nurse develops and implements a systematic approach to those patient care skills which are within Vassar Brothers Medical Center. The primary focus of this role is to provide nursing care to Code Stroke Code STEMI, Code Blue, Code Sepsis and Rapid Response patients at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. JOB QUALIFICATIONS BSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred National certification in critical care nursing required BLS and ACLS required ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Neuroscience nursing experience including NIHSS certification, CCRN and or CNRN or CEN certified or required within 1 year EXPERIENCE 5-7 years of recent critical care nursing preferred, but ED nursing experience will be considered Working Conditions: Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Significant occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
