Registered Nurse Weekend Premium (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry North
The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationshipsFormulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practiceConducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of careAdvocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issuesAccesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planningDocuments all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentationEvaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of careMakes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team membersCommunicates effectively, works cooperatively with others, and has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplinesAssists staff to assess patients' learning needs and outcomes measurement of patient educationProvides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor and delegates patient care activities and coordinates unit activities as neededUtilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery and ensures that the process for delivery of care is synthesized from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaborationDemonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education RecordEvaluates clinical and quality outcomes and contributes to performance improvement initiativesMay perform additional duties as assigned

Additional Requirements

Certification - Basic Life SupportLicensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered NurseExperience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Education - Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associate's Degree, within six months of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 24 months of start date.
