Registered Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology (Rad/Onc), Per Diem
Under the administrative direction of the Chief Therapist, and the clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, assists in the treatment and care of Kingsbury Center for Cancer Care patients. Administers prescribed radiation treatment, prepares patients in exam rooms and assists the Radiation Oncologist with medical examinations. Prepares patients, rooms, and equipment for treatment and simulations and assists the Radiation Oncologist with simulations. Performs all necessary calibration on equipment as prescribed by the Radiation Safety Officer in accordance with the conditions of therapy license, or any other regulatory body. Observes radiation safety measures for patients and personnel. Records all patient doses and gathers all confidential history on patients, documents all reactions that the patient may have, and reports these findings to the radiologist. Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, accurately documents appropriate information in daily log book, completes procedure, performs scheduling, consultation and billing procedures as required, performs other paperwork as applicable. Maintains room and equipment in clean and orderly manner; regularly performs visual preventive safety inspections. Assists the physicist in developing and maintaining the Quality Control Program and performs and/or assigns quality control activities to appropriate personnel to ensure the safe application of radiation therapy procedures for patients and staff. Certification in radiation therapy by ARRT. CPR certification must be acquired and maintained within three months of hire date and maintained bi- annually.
