Position Summary

Operates equipment and performs various radiographic/fluoroscopic and mammography related procedures. Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.

 

Responsibilities

•    Prepares for and assists radiologists in completion of radiologic/ fluoroscopic examinations and completion of needle localization and stereotactic procedures

•    Reviews all diagnostic data for completeness and accuracy

•    Assesses the patient's physical and mental status prior to discharge from the department

•    Performs a variety of tasks

•    Performs other related duties as assigned

•    Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field

•    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

•    Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

 

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

•    Graduate of an accredited educational program in radiologic technology required

•    Professional credentialing with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology required 

•    Professional credentialing with ARRT in Mammography required within one year of hire

•    BLS required

 

Working Conditions

•    Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs

•    Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position 

•    Typical equipment used in a clinical job
