Job DescriptionAdministers respiratory treatments and tests as ordered by physicians. Cleans and performs preventive maintenance on associated respiratory therapy equipment as necessary. Receives instruction or review several times each day. In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, assumes the responsibilities for monitoring and delegating the workload.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Graduation from an AMA approved respiratory therapy program.
Must be registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Must have and maintain current BCLS certification.
Must be licensed by the State of Missouri as a respiratory care practitioner.
Verbal communication skills required to explain procedure to patient and communicate with co-workers.
Writing skills required to document procedures and information on patient charts and other records.
Must have knowledge of the human development process of human development process and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Lifting greater distances throughout the work shift.
Must maintain CPR certification for continued employment.
Preferred
Current ACLS certification and maintain current status throughout TMC employment.
One-year experience as a respiratory therapist.
