The Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) will performs a variety of hemodynamic evaluations to detect obstructions as directed by a physician or in response to previous test results, including carotid duplex ultrasound imaging, arterial duplex imaging, venous duplex imaging, and doppler ultrasound, plethysmography, pressure measurements, and other methodologies to evaluate patients suspected of having peripheral vascular disease. Post evaluations, the Registered Vascular Technician provides written preliminary interpretation of test results and communicates to the care team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ May perform therapeutic procedures, such as pseudo aneurysm compression
+ Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results
+ Assess patient's condition/information and determine the appropriateness of procedures to be performed
+ Evaluates patients for the presence or absence, severity and location of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedure(s) from an array of anatomic, hemodynamic and physiologic procedures including duplex scanning, plethysmography, doppler ultrasound, pressure measurements and active or passive hyperemic challenge
+ Records test results and reports the results to the physician
+ Documents and prepares patient records for review and interpretation by physicians
+ Participates in quality improvement activities such as evaluating procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintaining appropriate logs and records
+ Maintains equipment to ensure conformance with specific operational/facility standards
+ Maintains equipment in working order, performs routine cleaning and preventive maintenance per policy, and reports any equipment malfunction to supervisor
+ Maintains all necessary supplies (ordering and stocking)
+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current registration as a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) through the American Registry of
+ Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as Registered Vascular Sonographer required.
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
+ Computer proficiency required
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
