Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) - Internal Medicine

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Internal Medicine team.

Position Overview: As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) specializing in Internal Medicine, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to our patients with complex medical conditions. Working under the supervision of board-certified specialists, you will utilize your technical skills and clinical expertise to support the diagnosis, treatment, and management of internal medicine cases. The ideal candidate will have a passion for internal medicine, strong technical abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians with all aspects of patient care, including physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment plans.Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and imaging studies (radiographs, ultrasound, etc.).Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring accurate dosages and proper patient monitoring.Assist with specialized procedures, including endoscopy, cystoscopy, and bone marrow aspiration.Provide compassionate nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering anesthesia, and managing post-procedural recovery.Educate clients on medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with current licensure in the state of California.Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RVT in a veterinary hospital setting, with a focus on internal medicine preferred.Strong technical skills, including proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support our 24/7 emergency service.

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $23 to $28/ hour.
