Job Overview:

Collects referral formRegisters patients ensuring that all information in the hospital information system is accurate and complete,s and co-pays,

Determines registration status and financial clearance for upcoming patients, pre-register accounts and determines which patients need to be seen for registration, collection of co-pay/referral forms and/or financial counseling.

Communicates with parents regarding insurance regulations, benefits and payment issues.

Required:

HS Diploma

Preferred:

Familiarity with computer software packages, Microsoft OfficePreference given to candidates who are bilingual in SpanishKnowledge of NJ financial programs Medicaid, Charity Care

Essential Functions:

Re-verfies insurance eligibility and demographic information on active recurring outpatients every 60 daysCollects insurance referral forms; copies insurance and identification cards and distributes as necessary for all patients registeredRequests payment at the time of services for co-pays and/or patients responsibility; provides itemized receipts; maintains accurate accounting of all payments/cash on hand in the departmentObtains all consent signatures as necessary, distributes facesheets, consents and addressograph plates for inpatients and outpatientsPre-registeres, admits/registers inpatient and outpatients in an organized timely fashion,Assures accuracy in all registrations, verifies all information when updating a patient's account and/or re-registering a patientVerifies all information when opening a pre-registered account,Serves as liaison between payor, therapist/clinician, physician and the patient's parent/guardian with respect to finicial issuesNotifies parents of availability of financial assistance programs,Specifically NJ Kidcare, CSH Charity Care ProgramDistributes and assists with the completion of the applicationsCompletes a pre-determination for insurance eligibility and benefits for all new and recurring outpatients seeking services at CSHInforms families of their benefits and/or financial responsibilitySchedules appointments and performs scheduling functions, fast call - confirms appointments
