Job Summary
The ER Registrar is responsible for managing patient intake and registration processes in the Emergency Room. This includes gathering and verifying personal, insurance, and medical information, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of records, and providing excellent customer service to patients and their families. The ER Registrar plays a critical role in facilitating smooth operations within the emergency department by ensuring timely and accurate registration, assisting patients, and supporting the healthcare team.

Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED required Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred 0-2 years of customer service experience required 0-2 years experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient registration preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations in a professional manner. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using office equipment and computer systems, including EHR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and telephone systems. Medical terminology and coding knowledge preferred.
