Responsibilities
Acts as a resource for the Patient Access Department and patient access supervisor. Assist with hiring. Responsible for training new staff, auditing charts, and process/policy implementation. Assist Facility Administrator at their request.
Courteously and Professionally greet patients.Obtain accurate demographic insurance information.Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs.Answer all incoming calls to the facility.Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions.Process medical records requests.Initiate transfer of patients needing higher level of care.Train new staff and provide continues and ongoing education to all PAR staff.Be a subject matter expert and a resource to PAR staff.Prepare monthly paperwork for scanning.Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. 1 year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experienceHigh School Diploma/GEDAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support certificateAdvanced Computer skills, 2 years of customer service experience, ability to multi-taskMedical terminology, insurance verification, Collections, schedule maintenance1 year of management, supervisor, or lead experience (preferred)
