Responsibilities

Acts as a resource for the Patient Access Department and patient access supervisor. Assist with hiring. Responsible for training new staff, auditing charts, and process/policy implementation. Assist Facility Administrator at their request.

Courteously and professionally greets patients.Obtain accurate demographic insurance information. Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs. Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions.Process medical records requests.Train new staff.Prepare monthly paperwork for scanning.Prepare bank deposits.Audit patient charts for accuracy.Maintain consistent communication within the department.
Qualifications

Minimum:

1 year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience1 year of management, supervisor, or lead experienceHigh School Diploma/GEDRequired upon hire: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificateMedical terminology, insurance verification, schedule maintenance
