Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** This position requires driving and travel for the Mobile Mammography Service throughout multiple counties in Western NY. You will be responsible for various duties, such as greeting patients to collect required registration data, performing check-in and checkout procedures, verifying insurance, and communicating patient financial assistance needs. A warm, friendly, and positive disposition is required. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Driver: + Drive the mobile mammography coach in a safe, responsible manner. + Ensures the mobile mammography coach is adequately fueled and mechanically sound, completing pre- and post-inspections before and after each use. + Responsible for obtaining routine maintenance of the mobile mammography coach as required for fuel, oil change, cleaning, and tire pressure. + Clean inside of mobile mammography coach daily and stock required supplies as needed. + Flexibility and transportation to other locations and hours of operation may be required. + Accurately set up new patient records in Care Connect. + Manages incoming calls while providing necessary information. + Greeting patients and/or their representatives and providing direction as needed. + Scheduling and/or prescheduling patient appointments. + Interviewing the patient and/or their representative for necessary information and completing the registration process as defined by departmental policy. + Identify services where no payment source has been identified to be followed up by communication of financial assistance and/or payment arrangements. + Verification of insurance eligibility/coverage and obtaining necessary pre-certifications/authorizations when applicable. + Communication with external customers such as, but not limited to, payers, physician offices, and other departments. + Performs other duties as assigned OAS Reception: + Greet patients to initiate a positive Imaging experience, properly identify patients. + Remain visible and accessible to patients. + Keep patients informed of schedule progress and delays. + Act as information resource for patients. Registration: + Confirm or collect patient demographics and financial information to ensure a billable account. + Arrive patients in billing and scheduling systems + Identify dual patient identification processes using University and departmental policies. + Identify and correct registration errors, complete missing registration data. Scheduling: + Schedule/reschedule/cancel visits for walk-in and return visits to Imaging using scheduling systems. + Schedule outside studies into hospital and imaging information systems. + Monitor exam schedules and report problems or concerns to area supervisor(s). + Coordinate patient transportation and interpreter services as needed. Medical Documentation Management: + Transfer outside studies to PACS or archiving/Image sharing applications. + Administer health history paperwork to patients. + Administer ambulatory patient surveys. Data Integrity Management: + Communicate with HIM to obtain accurate patient information. + Correct errors in patient study association and patient identification errors. + Reconcile patient data when multiple accounts exist to combine records. + Scan visit documentation and store in information system(s). Customer Service: + Embody ICare initiative. + Treat patients and colleagues with courtesy and respect. + Understand and meet the needs of internal customers. + Identify areas of improvement, notify supervisor(s) and departmental management. + Identify patient needs and services provided; assess patient special needs, monitor reception area to ensure patient comfort. + Empowered to make decisions to improve patient satisfaction. Training: + Provide training to new clerical staff in all aspects of department specific work practices including orientation, registration, charge entry, scheduling, reception, image management and customer service. + Act as information resource for department clinical staff in regards to all aspects reception/scheduling/registration functions and responsibilities. + Attend educational programs and teach newly hired or less experienced staff. Other: + Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor(s). + Assist clinical personnel as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: + 2 year degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. + A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or customer service setting required. + Basic Computer skills required.
