Job Description

The Registration Technician receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to the Sample Registration Supervisor or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of departures from the quality system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment, and follows the practices of the laboratory. The Registration Technician would be joining an energetic, lively, and dymanic team. This role holds the potential for a progressive promotional path. This is a team and organization that nurtures internal career growth!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrates and promotes the company visionRegular attendance and punctualityReceive samples for analysis and enters all pertinent information concerning testing, reporting, and billing of samples in the computer system per applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Properly handle and distribute samples for testingUnderstand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, e.g., Quality Manual and Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOPPs)Handle samples according to instructions received from clientsOperate standard office equipment including computers and copiersWork interactively with the technical staff to help ensure that clients’ expectations are met with regards to testing, reporting, and invoicingGenerate reports for daily department sample schedules, shipping lists for samples to be sent to other laboratory locations for testing; and other required informationAssemble samples to be prepared for analyses and samples to be delivered to the other laboratory locations for testing; maintain records of the samples shipped to other laboratoriesMaintain neat and accurate recordsMaintain files of information received with samplesMaintain a clean, safe work environmentMaintain cooperative working relationships with other company employeesCommunicate clearly orally and in writing to co-workersProficient typing ability, accuracy, and speedConducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Education/Experience:

High School DiplomaAssociate's Degree in Science is preferred, but not required

The Ideal Candidate has:

Work Environment & Physical Demands:           

Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Expected to understand the process for handling hazardous wastes and receive on-the-job training for handling specific waste types in their job area. Work requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment). Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time.Work may require lifting of weights of up to 40 lbs. Overtime, weekend and holiday work as required.May include second shift work.Will be exposed to potential food allergens.
