Summary
Reporting to the Director of Patient Access, this position is responsible for coordinating the onboarding and competency of new Colleagues in all facility-based registration areas; participates in the hiring process for new Colleagues as requested; coordinates a consistent quality and audit program which provides regular feedback to Colleagues in all facility-based registration areas; maintains the insurance reference resource for registration; develop and implements ongoing insurance training and quality assurance programs. With the support of the Director, this position will seek to improve the patient experience through coordinated training to new Colleagues, annual competency checks for seasoned Colleagues, and being a resource for registration related modules of the EHR creating a consistent patient experience throughout the health system.
This position will serve as a member of the Patient Access Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
Has had training/experience in presenting training in a classroom setting Comfortable presenting to a group Prior experience in registration related field Prior experience in healthcare Prior experience / knowledge in insurance processing in healthcare Competency in understanding elements of an insurance card and in reading an eligibility Introductory knowledge / familiarity of Medical / hospital terminology Knowledge of insurance terminology Experience in developing training materials to meet a learning gap Self-starter; able to take initiative Ability to remain optimistic with dealing with stressful situations Have participated in making hiring decisions / interviews Enjoys working in a collaborative team Enjoys coaching others
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School Graduation or Equivalent Preferred Education: Courses or training in health care related field, courses or training in delivering training programs, certification in Patient Access related area Minimum Experience: 2 years of job-related experience in registration or insurance processing related field in the healthcare industry; Demonstrated competency in understanding elements of an insurance card and reading an eligibility; Familiarity of medical terminology, computer literacy including Word/Excel, computer literacy with hospital EHR system Preferred Experience: Experience in the development of training materials and/or presenting trainings; bilingual
