Regulatory Affairs Director - Remote

Major Responsibilities:

​​Accountability for large, complex proposed rule comment filings, with an understanding that the quality of work product strongly impacts the Federal Affairs and Government policy department. ​Monitor regulatory filings, legislative actions, media, academic research, and other sources for policy development impacting the health system eco-system. ​Perform legislative and regulatory research and policy analysis. ​Identify internal subject matter experts to contribute to policy papers and comments to proposed regulations; lead project teams of subject matter experts and others in developing policy materials.​ ​​Work with lobbyists, regulatory experts, trade groups, internal subject matter experts to determine the impact and value of proposed federal rules on the Enterprise. ​​Work in partnership with the Associate Vice President, Government Policy, and the Communications team to develop policy documents for internal and external stakeholders such as white papers and one-page policy documents.  ​Develop internal communications appropriate for the executive team, leadership, and teammates to educate on policy issues. Develop external communications to educate and brief congressional staff members, members of congress and federal agencies of authority on policy matters of importance to the enterprise.​ ​​Provide policy analysis and effectively communicate opportunities or risks of policies to Vice President of Federal Affairs and Government Policy to enable the Vice President to develop Enterprise policy positions.​ ​​Travel as needed for DC events and other trade association events.

​Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

None required.

Education Required:

Master’s degree in Public Policy/Health Policy/Health Law.

Experience Required:

Candidates must have 10-12 years of experience responding to or drafting proposed rulemakings with a federal agency or a member of Congress researching, analyzing, and developing legislation. Have held positions that work closely with Communications teams to develop advocacy messaging.Experience in researching and analyzing health policy issues. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

​​Knowledge of the federal government’s legislative and regulatory processes​.​​Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; adaptable and flexible writing styles depending on intended audience and desired work product.​​Excellent ability to research and analyze complex issues.​​Executive sensibilities enabling AVP to lead calls and project teams to produce policy comments, responses, and resources​.Collaborative working style​.Capable in a remote working environment.​​Leadership mentality and the ability to lead, manage and mentor team members in the policy area.
