The Regulatory Affairs Manager at Pacific Aquaculture is a key role in our Leadership team supporting efforts for regulatory submissions and compliance. This position involves working with location leadership and regulatory agencies and is ideal for someone who has expertise in regulatory compliance, strong leadership skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Coordination and Compliance Management
Coordinate all permitting and regulatory functions between various Pacific Seafood departments and divisions, including but not limited to: Quality Assurance, R&D, Legal, ISSC, Pacific Shellfish Growers Association, and Internal/External Legal Counsel.
Coordinate operations team’s permitting and regulatory functions.
Assist in directing and managing all regulatory affairs for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and company food safety rules and regulations through periodic inspections and oversight of personnel activities and working conditions.
Assist in establishing high standards for managers and personnel through assignments, performance feedback, and growth opportunities.
Strategic Regulatory Planning and Guidance
Participate in regulatory strategy development and provide strategic input and regulatory advice to development teams.
Provide regulatory guidance and planning to support existing products and new product development.
Assist in coordinating production, distribution, and warehousing in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building
Maintain vendor relationships by ensuring performance standards.
Expand international markets through trade associations and networking.
Attend weekly management meetings to provide regulatory updates and insights.
Collaborative Project Management
Work with shellfish farm leadership on expanding new ground and culture techniques.
Collaborate with Hatchery Managers on additional nursery and seed expansion.
Collaborate with Production Managers on quality improvements and regulatory changes.
Assist in inventory control by balancing and tracking perishable items effectively.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or commensurate experience in the aquaculture industry
Minimum five years of related experience and/or training
Ability to review regulatory submission documents
Preferred
Minimum three years’ experience managing a teamPay: $80,000 to $120,000 Salary
