Regulatory Affairs Senior Analyst

Primary Purpose of Job

Assess and support regulatory compliance and the quality of service delivery systems. Provide training and support to management level staff in Adult Service Programs. 

Requirements

•    High School Diploma with 7 years in the field of developmental disabilities or equivalent knowledge and experience required; Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Human Services preferred. 

•    Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the field of developmental disabilities or equivalent knowledge and experience.

•    Minimum three (3) years’ experience presenting training materials in group settings.

•    Minimum three (3) years’ supervisory experience.

•    Knowledge of OPWDD/Justice Center regulations.

•    Capacity to work independently in an organized, detailed manner while maintaining a collaborative team environment is required.

•    Ability to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of the Agency.

•    Ability to travel to various sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•    Analytical, project management and organizational skills necessary to facilitate and maintain Self Survey and Corporate Compliance systems as well as billing and documentation requirements.

•    Substantial reasoning skills required including the ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete issues simultaneously; the ability to identify problems, interpret data and draw conclusions; and the ability to apply principles of logic or theoretical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to coach and counsel, interpret and advise, and the ability to develop and present to professional forums.

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products.

•    The ability to obtain and maintain AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) Certification. 

Essential Functions

•    Assist in the training of all new management level staff in Adult Service Programs to ensure consistency in training and orientation of new Managers and Administrators within assigned programs.

•    Collaborate with programs to identify staff training needs in response to internal and external audits; investigation and internal incident outcomes. 

•    Work under the guidance of the Director to correct worksites that are not in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

•    Act as a resource for all management staff and provide support and training as needed.

•    Attend staff meetings as assigned and provide training and support consistent with policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements.

•    Conduct and document Regulatory Affairs activities including Billing and Documentation reviews and Self Surveys as well as monitoring visits for the purpose of monitoring compliance with quality of service delivery systems, billing, documentation and/or coding standards.

•    Prepare and distribute all final reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policy.

•    Serve as ACLD’s liaison during on site OPWDD and Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) surveys.

•    Assist with the management of special projects and research assignments as designated by Senior Management.

•    Develop and implement staff training curriculums as designated by Senior Management.

•    Attend meetings of the Alliance of Long Island Agencies Corporate Compliance Subcommittee and Quality Assurance Task Force as needed.

•    Attend Corporate Compliance and related to Regulatory Affairs training programs as needed.

•    Other duties as assigned.
