As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist oversees and ensures compliance with state, federal and local regulations pertaining to non-metallic mining in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of environmental policies, mining permits, and construction-related regulatory frameworks, with a strong focus on operational efficiency. Depending on your positions and location you may participate in a different benefit plan Why you? + Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. + Prepare, submit, and manage mining and construction-related permits, including zoning applications, mining permits, stormwater permits, and reclamation plans. + Act as the company’s liaison during inspections, audits, and public hearings. + Maintain up-to-date documentation and records of all permits, approvals, and renewals. + Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with air quality, water management, reclamation, and other environmental standards. + Other duties as assigned. What it takes: + Bachelor’s and/or associate degree in environmental science, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of regulatory compliance within the mining or construction industries, preferably in non-metallic mining experience, or equivalent combination. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. DOT operational experience (preferred) + Strong organizational Skills + Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team. Desired Qualifications: + In-depth knowledge of Wisconsin-specific regulations and permitting processes. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to diverse audiences. + Basic knowledge of/Proficient in/etc. Microsoft Office Suite.
