How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express Company is seeking a skilled Regulatory Change Management professional to join our Global Compliance & Ethics team. This role will support the proactive identification, assessment, and implementation of regulatory changes across the organization, ensuring that all business units adhere to evolving regulations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in navigating the complex regulatory environment affecting financial services and will be adept at managing changes that impact our business operations worldwide.
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Monitoring and Change Management Continuously monitor domestic and international regulatory developments to identify changes that impact American Express. Conduct preliminary triage activities for regulatory change alerts and create compliance change requests in the regulatory inventory tool. Perform citation research for various laws, rules and regulations applicable to American Express. Engage with Quality Assurance, Vendor partners, Legal and Compliance teams to discuss key process updates and clarify questions. Monitor process KPIs, metrics and support in timely execution of the deliverables as per the agreed quality standards and procedures. Assist manager in driving process efficiencies. Assist in keeping the process procedures up to date. Utilize automated tools for horizon scanning and maintain an up-to-date understanding of new regulations, amendments, and repeals. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Assessment Assist in impact analysis using established methodologies to evaluate the potential impact of regulatory changes on various business units prioritizing changes based on their complexity, urgency, and potential business impact. Support ongoing monitoring of risk standards and programs to drive compliance with legal, regulatory, and Corporate Policy requirements. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Support the creation of materials to effectively communicate regulatory changes and their implications to stakeholders at all levels within the organization. Support collaboration with Compliance Officers, Control Management Teams, Process and Control Owner, and other key stakeholders to facilitate group alignment on compliance expectations. Coordinate with training teams to ensure effective delivery of training materials. Data Analysis and Reporting Support the interpretation of policies, procedures and compliance requirements to inform risk assessments and compliance strategies. Support the development of reports that track compliance metrics and the status of regulatory change implementations across various business units.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; specialization in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of overall experience in risk management (may include compliance, regulatory change management, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, and/or credit risk). Experience in using or maintaining a repository of laws/rules/regulations and their corresponding obligations (e.g., GRC platform) preferred. Experience using generative artificial intelligence tools preferred. Basic skills in data analysis, reporting, and risk assessment, including the use of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Good eye for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated project management skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with U.S. and International regulatory compliance requirementsSkills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team. Strong organizational skills with capability to manage multiple priorities. Aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solvingAdditional Details:
