Regulatory Compliance Engineer

We are seeking an Regulatory Compliance Engineer I to join our team in Radford, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone interested in working in a hands-on electronics lab and a team-oriented environment. The candidate will work as part of the global engineering compliance team to maintain, validate, and verify product safety in up to 1000-volt Motor/Drive systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the certification of technical products in the field of electrical motor and drive technology.Collaborate with quality management, production, and other development departments.Support co-operation with testing institutes (UL, CSA, TÜV, etc.).Help create and manage documents for certifications.Assist in checking development specifications with regard to applicable standards.Participate in the specifications of new products.Support the supervision of existing certifications.Provide customer support on their application and interpretation of standards.Perform and document tests in line with standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of PCB layouts and defining creepage and clearance.Basic knowledge of EMC testing per IEC 61800-3, CISPR 11/15/22, and related standards.Familiarity with Low Voltage Directive testing to IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61010-1, and UL/CSA equivalents.Experience with >120V electronics.Bachelor's of Science in Engineering, Physics, or related degree.

Minimum Requirement:

Understanding of PCB layouts and defining creepage and clearance.Basic knowledge of EMC testing per IEC 61800-3, CISPR 11/15/22, and related standards.
