Individual contributor responsible for providing day-to-day global scientific and regulatory support, execution and advisement for the successful launch and lifecycle of compliant and safe formulated consumer products including supporting cross-functional partners. Key duties include: raw material/formula evaluation and approvals in SAP/PLM workflows, assessment of equivalent raw materials, ensuring vendor conformance with US/Canada/EU regulations and BBW policies through education/training, landscape trends, and industry research!
Responsibilities Product Compliance and Global Safety Management Accountable to understand and apply global regulations to ensure compliant and safe products. Communicate ingredient/formula requirements to appropriate partners (internal and external). Evaluate and resolve minor product compliance issues with cross functional partners. Perform reviews to confirm ingredient, formula, and product acceptability. Responsible for supporting SOP development and revisions as needed. Maintain relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers. Support senior associates in coordinating and placing safety and efficacy studies with 3rd party laboratories. Evaluate and raise major issues to manager/supervisor. Product Research and Emerging Issues Management: Awareness and understanding of regulations, industry, and technical issues. Perform research on regulatory and global safety related topics appropriate to areas of accountability and gain foundational understanding of developing emerging technical issues. Support administration of issues communication and issues management documentation needs. Develop an understanding of market positioning and ingredient/technology acceptability. Government Agency and Trade Association Management: Participate in trade association activities as identified by supervisor. Monitor government/regulations applicable to their area of accountability. Communicate emerging trade association activities and/or governmental monitoring to scientific and regulatory affairs team applicable to their area of accountability. Participate and organize educational and development activities such as webinars as needed. Talent Management: Assist in onboarding new associates and training cross functional partners when needed. Create Individual Development Plan and Personal Goals and Objectives; align with supervisor. Qualifications 2-5 years' related experience. Familiarity with formulated, hardline and softline consumer product regulations. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be collaborative, motivated, and adaptable. Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
