About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Strategy and Transformation Manager to join our dynamic consulting team. You will play a pivotal role in helping our clients navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the EU’s investment services regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading regulatory transformation initiatives and compliance reviews within the financial sector (banks, wealth managers, investment firms). You will work with team members across various topics that can include business strategy and transformation, operational excellence and regulatory change.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage client engagements related to regulatory change, ensuring that financial institutions are compliant with current and upcoming regulations, including in relation to investor protection, product distribution, conduct of business, MiFID, IDD, Retail Investment Strategy. Engage with clients to assess, design, and implement comprehensive regulatory compliance frameworks. Conduct impact assessments, gap analyses, risk assessments or audits to identify areas where clients need to strengthen their compliance posture and control frameworks. Develop tailored policies, procedures, and controls for clients, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of regulatory updates and industry best practices, providing expert advice and guidance on these evolutions. Assist our clients in grasping the big picture of regulatory developments and anticipate their impacts, enabling them to adapt their business, operating, services, and remuneration models to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving environment. Facilitate training and workshops for client teams on regulatory matters. Collaborate with EY's multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated client solutions. Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
Skills and attributes for success
You have a significant experience in the financial services sector (Banking, Wealth Management, Investments, Financial Markets…). You have strong analytical skills, a capacity to think strategically and superior problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to addressing client needs.
To qualify for the role, you must have
An excellent academic track record in one of the following fields: Law, Finance, Economics or Business Administration. 5 years of relevant consulting experience, with an exposure to investment services and related applicable regulations Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple client engagements simultaneously. Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills. Very good command of Microsoft Office tools. Excellent written, communication and presentation skills in both English and French.
