The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team is accountable for all Infrastructure, Security, IT Operations and all End User Services and technologies. The Service Experience Team is responsible for ensuring the ‘effective delivery’ of EUS services to our global customers and collaborators, including the AZ Language Service. The Language Service Team supports the translation and language support of the business and bridge the language gaps across the enterprise. Our brand-new Translation Technology platform empowers colleagues, collaborators, and translation project managers across all functions to communicate, supervise and find major efficiencies in all cross-language activities. The Language Service has been designed to enable all functions and business areas to overcome sophisticated communication.

The Role

As a Regulatory Translation Specialist & Technology Support, you will primarily enable and support translation management activities within AstraZeneca's global and regional R&D operations in LATAM. You will play a key role in handling translation and terminology systems, ensuring effective communication across language barriers. Additionally, you will serve as an assistant and backup to the Localisation Tech Lead, chipping in to the maintenance and enhancement of our Translation Technology ecosystem.

Accountabilities

Translation Management:

Support the implementation of the AZ Translate ecosystem in R&D translation activities and workflows.

Administer linguistic assets within AstraZeneca's global Translation Management ecosystem.

Liaise with translation suppliers, consultants, and collaborators to address challenges and ensure seamless communication.

Partner Engagement:

Assist local and global R&D collaborators by configuring and organising translation projects.

Act as a focal point between translation customers and platform developers, ensuring alignment with business needs.

Support and Co-ordination:

Coordinate with vendor support organisations for TMS and cognitive services.

Deliver training and maintain learning materials for the AZ Translate platform.

Technical Assistance:

Assist the Localisation Technology Lead in maintaining and improving the Translation Technology ecosystem.

Support the release management process and ensure alignment with evolving business requirements.

Collaboration and Improvement:

Collaborate with global teams, developers, and vendors to deliver continuous improvement and value.

Participate in designing solutions and improving processes within the AZ Platform and Language Services

Requirements

University Degree in Linguistics, Translation, or related field or equivalent.2 -5 years’ experience in the language/translation/interpreting industry, preferably in Pharmaceuticals or Medical translation.Solid understanding of Translation Technology and Translation Management Systems.Fluently multilingual in Spanish and English, with a solid understanding of global, multilingual organisational challenges.Strong written and verbal social skills.Customer-centric approach with a focus on customer satisfaction.Ability to lead and handle sophisticated and ambiguous situations.

Desirable

ITIL v3 Foundation qualification.Experience with XTM, or other Translation Management Systems.Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry IT environment.Additional language skills.Experience working in diverse, multinational teams.Demonstrable ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
