With hospitals in Lufkin Livingston and San Augustine St. Luke’s Health-Memorial provides millions of dollars in charity care and community support each year. **Responsibilities** **Position Summary:** Under the direction of the Market Director of Rehabilitation Services, the Rehabilitation Tech performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care and routine tasks to support the delivery of safe, effective, cost-efficient patient care as delegated by the RN, Therapists, Exercise Physiologist, and Exercise Specialist. Provides assistance in transporting, transferring and lifting patients, cleaning functions, and select diagnostic tests. Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs to patients Displays professional, safe conduct in all interactions. Maintains positive working relationships with staff, other departments, physicians and peers. Displays conduct in support of CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Mission & Vision. **Position Responsibilities:** 1. Quality – completes work with accuracy and thoroughness. 2. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood sugar, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, rate of perceived dyspnea, and perceived exertion measurements. 13. Completes patient care activities during assigned shift; effectively organizes work schedule and personal time; willingly assists other staff, works time necessary to meet patient needs; demonstrates ability to adjust to unit census/acuity levels. Accepts new, temporary, and special assignments as necessary. 14. Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs to patients. 15. Performs as patient care companion when needed. 16. Keeps patient environment clean and clear of obstruction. 17. Has an awareness of age continuum; ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of specific age/patient needs and range of treatment per age group. 18. Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents. 19. Practices careful, efficient and non-wasteful use of supplies and linen, and follows established charge procedure for patient charge items. 20. Promotes and supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and team members. 21. Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner. 22. Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education. 23. Provides positive and constructive feedback to enhance departmental operations. 24. Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review. This includes, but is not limited to, patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule. 25. Utilizes available information management systems to support departmental and organizational goals. This includes utilization of e-mail, information announcements, policies, annual mandatories, charge entry, and accessing patient care related information 26. Demonstrates tact and professionalism in working and communicating with patients/families, physicians, other members of the rehabilitation team, and other employees of the healthcare system. 27. As a member of the Rehabilitation Services Team, ensures that the patient/family is satisfied with the rehabilitation services provided any that any issue that arises is addressed and resolved promptly. 28. Complies with and develops efficient and creative ways to maintain departmental productivity standards. 29. Adheres to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial policies, including but not limited to “CHI Values & Ethics at Work”, HIPPA, PHI, ePHI, Privacy Rule, and confidentiality. 30. Maintains safe work habits; adheres to safety rules; immediately reports any unsafe condition; immediately reports any incident / injury. 31. Supports department-based goals and contributes to the success of the organization. 32. Complies with hospital policies and procedures; attends required in – services, education and training. 33. Performs duties in accordance with that of hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. 34. Wears identification badge and clocks in appropriately. 35. Demonstrates a willingness to follow the chain of command, regularly channels suggestions, criticisms and complaints to the appropriate person. 36. Performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:** Education Level High School Diploma/GED **Licensure/Certification** BLS certification (through an approved AHA program) **Preferred:** Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) with Texas Dept. of Aging & Disability Services (Tx-DADS) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively. Proficient in using computers and standard software such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel **Experience Required:** None **Preferred:** One (1) year previous experience in a rehabilitation department, critical care unit or health related field. **Pay Range** $11.41 - $15.69 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
